Here is a selection of pictures from Oliver Evans Evo 1 , a very nice example although it arrived at the workshop with the engine removed and dismantled in various boxes , we started bye welding some strengthening plates in the engine bay and then respraying , as for the engine , a full rebuild , this was then installed with new motorsport spec loom

A few months ago one of our customers purchased an 8v integrale which had been used as a rally car by Stefan Burkart of Delta Parts in Germany We went to Germany to inspect it and bring it back to our workshop, it proved to be a really good shell with some very nice bits on , it did not have an engine but this did not matter as we would be fitting a 16v , it did how ever have a straight cut gearbox. The deal was done and after many beers the car returned with us to the uk Paul who bought the car wanted to build a San Remo replica , although the car had a similar paintjob and looked very good it had a sunroof, which we obviously did not want , so off came the roof and replaced with non sunroof type which we had removed from a scrap car some time ago , new it would be useful one day, While doing the body repairs decided to fill in the old fuel filler flap and flair in a new works type one , we also managed to find a twin roof vent as the original car had . The original speedline split rim wheels are on order , and original mirrors located That's the cosmetic side sorted , graphics will be going on near the end. The 16v block is built with steel rods forged pistons and baffled sump with balance shafts removed , managed to find set of original works pulleys for the auxillary items to give it that authentic look ,cylinder head has been flowed and some rally camshafts installed . Rear diff has been overhauled and fitted to tubular carrier and waiting to go into car along with group A type wishbones . Will be adding more pictures as work continues .

 

I was invited to Goodwood by Stefan from Delta Parts, these are the people who bought all the Astra racing spares and who are now reproducing many rare group A hard to find parts . On arrival, I went direct to the forest stage , were I found all kinds of classic and modern rally cars , among the Lancia cars , were a works S4 .8V To tip car , Group A martini Evo and kankunnans forest spec car . After a good look round and a meet with Miki Biasion, Stefan asked me if I would like to go round the stage as co driver in the Kankunnan car , I jumped at the chance , I had to purchase a rac licence from the organisers then Stefan borrowed a race suit and helmet for me , and off we went , never been in a group A Delta before , it was fantastic and something I will never forget.
